I am looking for a house in my city.I find it difficult to decide on various features for a good choice.Sometimes I feel that may be the location is more important and sometimes it is the built up area.Probably my friends at this forum will help.Thanks in advance.

I think you can take the following factors into account:  location, availbility of amenities, neighhourhood, price, affordability and potential profits in future.

Thanks a lot for the advice.I feel the location is probably the prime factor and that is one must try to be closer to the city center.The 'potential profits' if you could elaborate,it would help.

For potential profits, I mean the sales potential; imagine if you are selling this place you just bought 5 to 10 years dowm the road, what price do you think it will fetch and how much profits you can make from this sale.  Remember that even if you do not mind some negative factors(such as location next to a cemetery for example). you may have diffculty selling to the next buyer who mind.
