With a limited budget, what is the best part of your home to give a makover of to get the best return, I personally think that the bathroom is where your money is best spent,

What do you reckon?

The bathroom may be your best bet, but for me and my husband,  I think it would be the kitchen, since that is where we spend a lot of time. We both love to cook, and I would love to remodel my kitchen to where everything is conveniently located.

This is a really great question and exactly what I was asking in a previous thread.  I will be interested to see the responses.

Personally, I was leaning towards bathrooms and kitchens as well.

I personally think that it is the bedroom where I will spend the most.In fact the kitchen and the bathrooms can also not be neglected. When one starts to give a makeover it is not possible to neglect any portion.A balance has to be struck.

It will be great when we get a few more replies, already though i see the trend towards the 'big 2' as I suspected :-)

My pick will be the master bedroom; though I am doubtful that such improvements can lead to a higher market value; usually the market value of a property is determined generally by the broad macroeconoimic factors; the " frills" like home improvement can only marginally raise the value and thus may not be worth the effort.

It has been said time and time again that the kitchen is VERY influential! I would think that this would be what I would remodel. I've also heard that a remodeled kitchen is one of the major things that will add to your value as well.

Personally I would prefer the bathroom and kitchen to be in good standing but the flooring is important to me.I bought my home with carpet that was old and dingy we had put tile and what a difference the home looks, I know when I resale in the future it would raise the value.
